Fantasy Comics (Comics worth the read!)

Editorial
thoughts from David
(too much for most of us to read)

01/02/99 - Let's not kill my favorite character.  This character happens to be in the lead, so cast you votes in the extended contest.  Just vote right!

08/30/98 - Another hint to the future project - "The Horned God"

08/14/98 - Please do not pick my favorite character's death!!!  Also, if you ever get the chance to meet Joe and Philip in person do so.  They are great people to hang with at conventions.  At Chicago Con, I bought lots of art from Philip and a cool shirt he had made  just to sell at Cons.  Plus they gave me stuff for being a nice guy and let me sit at their booth to join in conversations with passing fans.  I breezed through Philip's portion of Philip and Joe have a cool project they are working on.  I am not sure what I can and cannot say about it BUT here is four words "Joe Philip Fantasy Color".    Maybe Joe will give me more to post as the project progresses.  This could lead to a new Fan Site!?!?

07/08/98 - Hard to add any more words to the site after getting Joe's in the New/News section.   But thanks for all the kind emails on this site.   Hopefully the fans of LegendLore are enjoying this supplement to Philip and Joe's work.

07/01/98 - Bi-weekly updates, yeah right?  The weather turned nice and the kids and kid in me wants to play!   Added New section to speed your search for the updates, changes and new stuff.
-Joe and Philip will be at Chicago's Comic Show (now called Wizards World) and Dragon Con in Atlanta.  I plan on meeting Joe and Philip for the first time face-to-face at Chicago on July 17th.  Warning there could be tears and lots of bowing.
-Read Sudden Gravity, also from Caliber.
-Pendragon Chronicles joins the Caliber fantasy line very soon.  Joe Martin and Jose Trudel are bringing us the first Excalibur Arthurian saga.
-Also, LegendLore merchandise... Philip brings us a new LegendLore t-shirt.  Get it!   Show your support!

04/29/98 - LegendLore #14: Wrath of the Dragon #2 is at local comic book shops across the U.S.   Previews/Postviews gets a Faerie and news of  "LegendLore: Slave of Fate" one-shot.  Thank you for your comments about this site.

04/21/98 - Read A Moment of Freedom!  This really is a must read.   Also, Caliber fantasy line is growing... bug your comic shop for Pendragon Chronicles: Excaliber.  Also due out for June is LegendLore: Misery's Shadow graphic novel reprinting issues 5-8, and for way back issues check out The Realm Ressurrection graphic novel (pre-Martin/Xavier Realm world).  And hopefully you have already requested your very own LegendLore: Dominic T-Shirt.  I am waiting on a Bonecrack action figure with 8 different rarity of variants (each with a different missing appendage).  I hate those variants you have to special order for.  On a serious note, I e-mailed Joe a while back about the Realm role-playing game and ... we are going to have to wait a bit.  This is good (although I was really ready to get this in my hands) since it will give them time to launch this with proper backing and planning.   It is a big rpg world out there and easy to get lost in.

Let me know how the site is shaping up ... or not.

David

03/15/98 - First, obviously I like this series a lot.  Joe and Philip are bringing something to the comics world that is not often done well or right, fantasy.  Why did I do this site?  Well, as a kid I played Robin Hood, sword fought and lanced one another with sticks.  Then I started playing D&D (© TSR) back in 1977 (4th grade), found the Hobbit and watched Conan.  And now I read Legendlore, role-play and talk comics in a group tagged S.P.A.C.E.  I am sure there was some cool stuff in between 4th grade and now, but the point is I am a fan and you probably are too or you wouldn't be here (or you'll soon be a fan if you like fantasy).  My hope is that current fans will find this a place to hang out, while attracting other fantasy fans to the series.  Enjoy the site and let me know what you like and don't like.

The beginnings... I had
asked Joe Martin quite some time ago if I could do a fan site and he gave the ok the day after some time ago.  But my first attempt didn't look good and the 2nd and 3rd went away on the "format and reload" (I work on computers for a living, I never back up!  It is a rule.  And I wish that was a joke).  But the LEGENDLORE Fan Site is now online.

I plan to update the site bi-weekly or so with something, at least until I get something from all the issues online (1,2,3 & 13 are currently done-ish).  Comments on my scanning, layout, etc...?   Let me know if the images should be in a different format or size.  My scanner is probably the second one ever made (the first one melted glass and face as the inventors tried to copy himself), and may not be up to par.

p.s. I'll be doing something cooler with the LEGENDLORE title on the top of every page.
